Star Wars: The Old Republic Revealed

Every day for the past couple of weeks I’ve been extremely busy working on the new DGAMER site. I am sick of not having it finished and it bothers me that I am letting all of you down.

One game that I’m very excited about is the new MMO that is under development by LucasArts and BioWare, Star Wars: The Old Republic. Recently, they posted a their first Video Diary. This game looks looks amazing and I just hope that they deliver on their word. It will probably end the suffering of Star Wars Galaxies and put it to death. Galaxies started out as a great game, that is until Sony decided to make some stupid changes to the game that completely ruined it. Anyway, check this video out:

Mass Effect Realesed Today; Age Of Conan; Latest Development On The NIA

Today is the release of Mass Effect for the PC. The game has been available for the Xbox 360 since November of ’07. I will be downloading my copy ASAP, when I’m finished playing I will give you my opinion of the game as always.

I am thinking about getting Age Of Conan: Hyborian Adventures but I am still undecided. If they had a trial it would be great, then it would make it easier to decide. World Of Warcraft doesn’t really do anything for me, I just can’t get into it. As I said before, I used to play Star Wars Galaxies but the developers have turned the game into crap. If you have ever played it then you know what I am talking about. Anyway, I will wait just a little longer.

It looks as though the Neural Impulse Actuator is closer to being shipped to retail stores. OCZ Technology has added the NIA to their web sites products list. They have also posted more detailed information on their forums at

NIA Pushed Back; Assassin’s Creed

The NIA was supposed to be released this week but guess what? It’s not going to be, isn’t that a shocker. What I was told is that it is being pushed back to around May 9th. I guess this means more waiting, I hope that OCZ Technology doesn’t keep pushing and pushing it back.

If any of you have never played Assassin’s Creed, I recommend that you give it a try. I know that some of you can’t play it on a console even with the Accessible Controllers that are offered. Now that it is on the PC you have more options to play. This game is beautiful, exciting, fun and has a great storyline. Yes, there are some issues with the game. There are two issues that I wanted to discuss. First, is the outrages system requirements. The games minimum requirements are a Dual core processor 2.6 GHz Intel® Pentium® D or AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 3800+, 1 GB of RAM for Windows Xp / 2 GB of RAM for Windows Vista and a 256 MB DirectX® 10.0–compliant video card or DirectX 9.0–compliant card with Shader Model 3.0 or higher (NVIDIA GeForce 6800+ / ATI Radeon X1600+). I played the game on my laptop that doesn’t have a Dual core processor but the funny thing is, that it passed the requirements test. The only thing that didn’t pass was the mother board. There is a little slowdown in parts of the game when I max out the graphics but it isn’t enough to make it too make it a big deal while playing. The other is the fighting system, which for me is too easy. It’s pretty much target, wait for them to attack then counter attack by pressing a mouse button. This is great in terms of Accessibility, it should be more difficult for my taste. The game is still fun and has an ending that will keep you wanting more.

Gears Of War; Forums

I am currently playing Gears Of War for the PC. All I can say is OMG, this game is freakin’ sweet. I wish I could have played it on the XBox 360 but it is really difficult to play FPS’s on consoles with current accessible controllers. So, I always hope that games like this one become available on the PC. As you know, this is one of the best games of ’06 and games like this stay around for a long time, it is a must play. I won’t go into what the game is all about because you already know, well, you should.

I should have the forums back up some time next week. They were originally taken down by a mistake that I made.It really pissed me off that I made a mental mistake. Anyway, expect them back up.

Duke Nukem Forever!?!?

3D Realms has released a teaser trailer for Duke Nukem Forever as of yesterday, Dec. 19th. It has been 10 long years since DNF was announced. It sounds as if we may finally be getting some results but don’t get your hopes up just yet. At least not until we get a definite release date.

Here is a quote from the developer community manager Joe Siegler. “After seeing the teaser we thought it was something we should share with all of you and while it’s just a teaser, rest assured more is coming.” Siegler also said, “Thank you for being fans of the game and for your continued patience.” PATIENCE? WTF? LMAO, I think we are way beyond that.

One last thing that made me laugh. Best Buy has the game on their web site with a release date of 2/28/2008, with a price of $56.99 and they are taking pre-orders, what? LOL. Here is the link. At 3D Realms it says “Coming when It’s done” and are not taking pre-orders at this time, someone messed up. Anyway, here is the trailer, enjoy:

Crysis And More…

Well, after playing Crysis I have to say that this game is a must play. The game play is so much fun, like I said anything is possible. Which means you can go in stealthy or the always fun and exciting all out guns blazing. One of my personal favorite things to do is grabbing enemies and just throwing them at other enemies, so much fun. One thing that I recommend is setting the difficulty level to Elite, if you can handle it. I haven’t tried the easier levels yet but I think that I will just to let you know what the experience is like. Try the demo and see if you can do it. To get the full graphic goodness you will need the the latest graphic cards, like the NVIDIA GeForce 8 Series cards. It does play on the lower end cards, it works on my laptop but it has an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS in it. Anyway, if you like FPS games then I promise you will enjoy Crysis.

Another game that you will like is Team Fortress 2. It is very addictive and will have you playing for hours. I have a few friends that are playing constantly just like me. If you are into the Half-Life series then Episode 2 is also a must play.

Today Is The Day… Crysis

I have been waiting for this day for along time, Crysis is finally released today. This game is going to be a great one. I played the demo and it is sweet, you can do anything in this game. Just about everything is destructible. You get to use some cool abilities (Cloaking, Maximum strength, Maximum speed and Maximum armor) that make the game interesting, I love the strength ability. Anyway, I recommend that you buy this game if you like FPS’s. Try out the demo and you will see what I mean.

Halo 2 Update

I’m an idiot, Microsoft made a fool out of me. Yesterday the release date for Halo 2 was May 22nd. Today I get up and see that the date is now June 1st. Oh well, this happens at times.

Halo 2

Tomorrow, the 22nd, is a great day. Halo 2 is finally released for the PC. I never got to play it on the XBox because I really have a hard time playing first person shooters on consoles. The PC on the other hand is so much easier for me. I can’t wait to play it. Oh, if you are planning to purchase it, just remember windows vista is required to play the game.

I will be revealing some new items coming to DGAMER in my next post in a day or two.
